City Hall will be open on Thursday, August 28, but due to scheduled server and software updates, we will be unable to process any payments of any kind or access any utility customer accounts. We will still be able to answer calls and make service calls as needed.

**LANDFILL CLOSURE**
There will be water disruptions beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26th. The areas effected will be South Brandt Street from 1st Street to 5th Street and South Hoskins from 1st to 3rd Street. We do not anticipate the shut off to be longer than a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

Sealed bids are due TODAY by 4:00pm for the abatement of overgrown vegetation at certain properties. Bid packets that contain the list of properties and bidding requirements are available to pick up at City Hall or send an email request to citymanager@spearmantx.gov.

Coffee Memorial Blood Center reached out a bit ago asking for our help in reminding the community about today's blood drive at the O'Loughlin Center. Blood supplies are critically low, and they are asking for 9 more donors to meet today's goals! If you are eligible and able to donate, please consider donating today!
The drive is from 2:30 - 6 p.m today at the O'Loughlin Center Gym. Appointments are still available and walk-ins are wecome! You can the QR code on the flyer below or click the link to schedule!

Utility bills were mailed today. If you do not receive your bill by August 11th, please call us — we can print a new one and provide your total over the phone.
⚠️ Important:
Bills are in an envelope (not the usual postcards).
Due date: August 26th
Bills on autodraft will draft on August 15th.
Bills not paid by 8:00 AM on August 27th will be disconnected and subject to a $35 reconnect fee.

Special Council Meeting
We're sadly wrapping up summer at the swimming pool. The lifeguards are either moving off to college or are getting back into the swing of things with their extracurricular activities at the high school. Our final day will be this Friday, August 1st.
Workshop #2 for the FY26 Budget.
Due to the rain the landfill will be closed today. We will see how much it dries up today and reassess in the morning.
