***Reminder***
Tonight at 5:30pm there will be a Public Hearing to discuss the City's application for grant funding through TxDOT's Travel Alternatives program. This project, if funded, would provide ADA accessible sidewalks from the SISD Elementary campus and HCHD to and around Eska Park, where the new inclusive playground and other accessible features will be located. If funded, construction of the sidewalks would be 100% grant funded with no match on the City's part.
Shortly after, we will hold a second Public Hearing to discuss the City's application for grant funding through TPWD's Local Parks Grant program for funding a SPLASH PAD at Martin Park, across from Eska Park. This SPLASH PAD would carry on the inclusivity and accessibility theme from Eska Park.
Public input and support is important to these grant applications and we hope many of you will be able to join us. The hearings will be held at City Hall at 30 SW Court in Spearman. Please drop in and learn more about these project applications!

Due to the amount of rain we've received, the landfill will be closed through Monday, 6/9/25. We are also unable to access many of the alleys in town and won't be able to until Tuesday, 6/9, at the earliest. We have temporarily placed extra dumpsters at most all of the parks in town, under the Kenneth St. water tower, and in the parking lot at the mall/Lowe's, near the El Mariachi Restaurant sign. We ask that you please limit the use of these extra dumpsters to household trash for the weekend and avoid placing any large items in them. There are also dumpsters located in the alley between City Hall and the Skate Park. We will resume alley pickup again next week. Thanks for understanding.
